Nexus Card Activation and Use
Once your interview with CBP is complete and if you are considered as a Trusted Traveler, you will receive your NEXUS card via post service in approximately one week. Please, bear in mind that cards are mailed in plain white envelopes and cannot be forwarded. All you have to do after you receive your Nexus Pass, is to log into your GOES account and active your card before start using it. On the screen, you will see a small window dedicated for card activation. Once you finish with your card activation, that’s it. You can enjoy all the benefits of using Nexus Card. Note that you can also use your KTN/PASS ID to enjoy TSA PreCheck benefits. For more information about it, visit our dedicated TSA PreCheck page.
Once your Nexus card is issued, it will be valid for the next 5 years. During that time period your passport may be expired and would need a renewal. We encourage you once you have the renewed document to inform both U.S. CBP and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) for that change. You can also log in to your GOES account and to update the information there and visit the nearest Canadian Nexus Enrollment Center.
